About

At the age of 15, Daan started as an intern with director Jos Budie, where he participated in programs for RTL4, SBS6, and NPO2, as well as edit sessions. He gained experience in live television and studio entertainment.

He did an internship as a format developer at a TV production house, where he contributed to the development of both linear content and content for streamers like Videoland and Amazon Prime. Following this, he participated in the TV Academy, a training program in collaboration with Fremantle Netherlands, Talpa Studios, and ITV Studios, among others.

Daan has specialized in content development and has an understanding of channel and producer profiles. He is currently working on various formats that are in the pitching process. Previously, formats were pitched to Videoland, BNNVARA, Amazon Prime, and various production companies.

In addition, Daan collaborates with various YouTubers/creators to develop both long-form and short-form content for their channels and external partners. He knows how to develop diverse ideas into formats with well-integrated partnerships, from YouTube and TikTok formats to podcasts.

Scope
Together with the production company, the desired output is defined: what needs to be developed, and how much time it takes.

Briefing
The production company sends the briefing along with the desired output.

Kick-off
A first session to hand over the details and start brainstorming. The meeting is recorded and transcribed with AI, so nothing gets lost.

Development
Brainstorming and developing concepts, worked out down to script level.

Pitch document
A carefully designed document with the concepts or campaign, including edit notes and all underlying thinking, plus a deck. One round of feedback is included.

Production & postOptional
Before the project or after the concepts are delivered, both sides decide how Daan is involved in production and post-production: checking in with the team and a round of edit feedback.
